Blog Tour: The Reluctant Bachelorette by: Rachael Renee Anderson

Goodreads Summary:

Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go.

Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke's an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she's up to, it means revenge.

But when their pranks go south, will they screw up any chance they have at a future together, or will they be able to forgive and forget and prove that love really does conquer all?

My Review:

ReadingNook Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I've always been a huge fan of the TV show The Bachelor/Bachelorette (hey, don't laugh), so as soon as I heard that Rachael Anderson was writing a book about a girl in a small town doing a similar online spin-off show I knew I needed to read this book. I know the show is highly likely to be scripted and that many of the romances fail horribly, I still like it for light entertainment and whether scripted or not im a hopeless romantic, which this book fufilled for me. It was light-hearted and funny and feed my hopeless romantic self with a nice dose.

The characters in this book are fun, and the different guys that are picked for Taycee make this story as funny as it is, some of them are just down-right awful but in downright hilarious ways (for example Sterling the Spitter). This honestly is my first read from Rachael Renee Anderson but it definitenly won't be my last from her that's for sure.

If you're looking for a clean, romance read that you wouldn't feel ashamed to pass on to your mother or grandmother but still long for a good story, that keeps you turning the pages, then go pick up a copy of The Reluctant Bachelorette.

Bloomsbury Blog Tour: Send Me a Sign by: Tiffany Schmidt

Goodreads Summary:

Mia is always looking for signs. A sign that she should get serious with her soccer-captain boyfriend. A sign that she’ll get the grades to make it into an Ivy-league school. One sign she didn’t expect to look for was: “Will I survive cancer?” It’s a question her friends would never understand, prompting Mia to keep her illness a secret. The only one who knows is her lifelong best friend, Gyver, who is poised to be so much more. Mia is determined to survive, but when you have so much going your way, there is so much more to lose. From debut author Tiffany Schmidt comes a heart-wrenching and ultimately uplifting story of one girl’s search for signs of life in the face of death.

My Review:

ReadingNook Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Cancer. It effects everyone whether you yourself are fighting the battle, or someone close to you has lost the fight, I highly doubt there's any one person that cancer has not directly affected. Mia Moore is your typical, popular, high school cheerleader, her grades are stellar and she'll have her choice of where to go to college, she's on-top of the work until she hears the dreaded words, "You have cancer".

I've read a few cancer related books this year and both are landing in my top ten for the year. Tiffany Schmidt completly captivated me with this novel. Mia Moore is a girl that anyone can relate too, her battle and inner struggles are average in nature, although her cancer may not be. Gyver Russo is the best friend every girl wishes he had. He hands down wins my favorite character of the year. Gyvers' smooth and cool demeanor totally had me rooting for him from early on in the story. The tension between Mia and Gyver was intense, I was like NO! you NEED to get along!! I felt very passionately about their relationship which took me deeper into the story.

This book has it all, tension, passion, drama, happiness, pain, heartache, and realization. I flew through this book and loved every minute of it, it never slowed down in plot for me and Mia's character came to life. I felt her pain and her fear reveraberate off the pages. Tiffany Schmidt is an author to watch out for, if she's not on your radar yet, she needs to be.
